Great Food, Nice Atmosphere. Went on Friday night. It was busy and but we were seated right away and well taken care of by our waitress. The atmosphere is nice but it was a bit noisy. We got the spanish style sausage to get us started. It was very flavorful. We ordered the risotto and the salmon both of which were very good. Prices are reasonable.

love this place. This place has great food and reasonable prices. I love their risotto and it goes great with a glass of wine. They do have a pretty small menu, but most things I've tried there are really good. I recommend sitting out in the patio area because it's really nice back there when the weather is good. I've been there a few times and the service and food was great. Atmosphere is nice too.

Overall Great Expierience.... Really Good Food. I believe that this midtown restaurant in underated and deserves more attention in the Sacramento Restaurant Scene. My wife and I ate here last week and were surprised how busy it was for a Tuesday night. Our waitress was very nice and knowledgeable about the specials for the night. Our appitizer of a polento pizza came out quickly and was delicious. My entree was a Sweet Pea chicken rissoto and was absolutly delicious. Perfect texture and the flavors were great. My wife ordered the prawn Linguini and that was also very good and rich. The shrimp were tender and went great with the cream sauce with roasted whole tomatoes. We both cleared our plates and went on to dessert. The creme brulee's come in a 3 pack of different flovors. This was something different and also very good. A quick walk to the bathroom and I saw the busy cooks in the open kitchen which adds to the feel of this homey restaurant. The Rustic brick and dark with bright color scheme was pleasing to the eye. I recomend Lucca to anyone looking for a great modern italian meal at the right price

Best Italian Food. Ever.. Lucca is just plain great Italian food. My family visited from San Diego last weekend and we took them out to several restaurants, and Lucca was by far the favorite. You will pay a bit more at Lucca for your Italian food, but once you've taken your first bite, it will all be worth it. My family's first impressions of the food when it arrived on our table was that the servings seemed smaller than they expected, and that it looked fancy. At the end of the meal, our plates were all clean, we were stuffed and laughing together. The outdoor patio is also wonderful, especially diring the summer. You get the feel that you're in someone's beautifully kept back yard, with fragrant flowers, and nice lights hidden back in the garden, making for a romantic dinner for two.

I really like it!. I've been to lucca many times and I like it. The food is yummy, the service is good and the prices are great. We took the parents and they loved it. We had the special, which was fish and it was terrific. The special salad, spinach with Satsuma oranges and roasted hazelnuts was especially good, not too much dressing, but just enough...it was perfect. When we asked to split the salads they were very accomodating and the servings were generous. The deserts have always been delicious. I would recommend it to anyone.

Decent Atmosphere, Lousy service. Been there twice, but a third time is not a likelihood. First time, the food was good, but the waitress was a complete amateur. Second time, the food wasn't as good, the wine wasn't what I ordered, and the management was rude and offensive. This is not fine dining, the wine list is a bit limited, but it is a step above your cookie-cutter franchise bistro mainly in terms of location and atmosphere. If the staff were more experienced and a little more customer-service oriented, it would be a lot better. Oh well, there are other places easily within walking distance. I'm not bashing everyone; the hostesses were pleasant and the bartenders were courteous.

Wow, what a bad meal.... Nice enough-looking place, but the food is uniformly awful. Started with some fried zucchini chips (on a friend's recommendation) and they were soggy and poorly presented (basically dumped on our table in a big bowl). To waitress' credit, when we complained, she removed them from our order. The chop salad was okay, but spinach salad was swimming in so much dressing it might has well have been a Big Mac. Crispy pork chops were DEEPLY fried and inedible, while chicken risotto was bland. Service spotty throughout the evening. Water not refilled until we asked for it, and while waitress asked us twice in a five minute span about our entrees, she pretty much ignored us the rest of the night. All in all, a big disappointment. Wish I had done a little more research.

Very nice restaurant. I visited this restaurant for my first time when my office held our holiday dinner there. The decor was very nice and inviting, the staff was prompt and attentive, and we all enjoyed our meals. I ordered the cioppino as my main dish, and it was the best I've had in quite a while, with a hearty portion of seafood. I sampled a few of the other dishes and they were all very tasty!

Not what I remember it to be..... I took my parents, my sister and her husband here for dinner when they were visiting. It all began well, reservations easy, prompt seating, but that's because it was not even close to being full on the Sunday night that we went.

Our server was a bit unpleasant, seemed to not know how to smile. To make it worse, she took "not rushing us" a little too far by consistently making us wait, even though the restaurant was clearly not full. By the time we wanted the check and were ready to leave, a few of the waiters/busboys were just tossing something around, playing a game in view of the diners.

The cocktail I ordered, the Chocolate Martini, was subpar and was disappointing considering that every bar knows how to make these by now. The Chefs must have an affinity for salt because everything I tried - from the pan-seared salmon with cherry butter to the ricotta gnocchi was more than a little too salty. The salmon has been on the menu since the restaurant opened. The bruschetta we ordered for an appetizer was more like a salad with two pieces of toast on the side, complete with salad greens. Overall, I was disappointed.

The only thing that made it even remotely worthwhile was the tall, attractive busboy. Now that says something.
