I don't recommend this.
I've eaten here several times, as well as gone for happy hour and I must say, this place leaves a lot to be desired. The only positive is how close it is to my office and that the happy hour deals are great.
The lunch hour isn't too bad - they seem to have enough servers but the food can be hit or miss. I have never had a good happy hour experience - the appetizers have always been bland and the service slower than molasses. They've got to hire more servers and perk up the taste of their food.
Very Disappointed.
I also order the clam chowder soup, a bowel which was very good. ($5.95)
The steaks came, along with a potato and carrots. The steaks were just average. Maybe I was just expecting a better steak due to the reviews here and the price.
During dinner we were approached by our waiter if we need anything else, I asked for more water. The water never came to our table.
Yes, we have been to Mortons, and I have to honestly say, there is a huge difference between the two restaurants. Morton wins hands down in every area. It was not even close, the food, the service was much better at Morton. There was a party at the table next to us; they gave the gust of honor a gift certificate. Funny thing is, it was a gift certificate to Mortons.
Total cost of dinner for two, 80.00 (no drinks).
Love Chops!. This upscale downtown restaurant is our favorite steak house in town! The service staff from the management to the bar tenders to the waiters and bus boys are the best! We have been taken care of to the max every time we go in! The food is also great, the filet is soooo good. Try the Australian lobster tail if it is on the specials menu! The Bar is also a great place to hang out in!
Fun place. This is a power lunch place by the Capitol. You will see people who are "big shots" around town here at lunch. It is not amazing but good honnest food in an elegant atmosphere. Like most things in sacramento it thinks it is more impressive than it really is but it is a good eat.
I <3 Chops!. Loved the food here! Their bread comes with a very unique orange tomato(?)/herb butter, and my prime rib was juicy. My date's pork loin chop was DELICIOUS - favorfully seasoned, juicy, and oh-so tender. The mashed potates were a bit bland, but the meat made up for it. Portions are big so we didn't try any desserts, but I would definitely recommend Chops for their steaks and meats!
Great experience!!. Well it was a Sunday evening, a friend of mine suggested Chops Resturant. It was a great overall experience. I would suggest maybe add more salad dressing selections.
Chops steaks.
I ended up here after wandering around downtown Sacramento. As it was very busy (some huge corporate party) I sat at the bar. I found the ambience to be great - busy, dark but efficient with very friendly staff.
After establishing that steak was the thing, ordered the prime rib along with a salad and the peach cobbler for dessert. The salad was excellent, the prime rib was superb and the dessert was great. I was treated well despite sitting at the bar and had a great time. I would tell my friends and colleagues to go here if looking for a good steak.
