This salon is a rip-off!. Today I went to Nail Solutions with a $5 coupon. I showed it to them when I got there. She told me that I couldn't use the coupon for $5 off their advertised "spa pedicure" (advertised for $17.95, regular price $22) but instead told me I could get a "deluxe spa pedicure" for $25 instead of $35. She didn't explain why the coupon wasn't good for the regular spa pedicure, but rather than arguing with her, I went ahead and said okay to the deluxe pedicure. Then I said I wanted a manicure too, which was $12. I told her that I wanted my nails buffed instead of polished.

The pedicure was fine, although it definitely wouldn't have been worth the "regular" price of $35! It was barely worth the "reduced" price of $25 in terms of the types of treatments you got and the length of the massage.

The manicure was done very quickly by a different person - she spent almost no time shaping my nails and everything else was done with her standing by the side of the pedicure chair. When she buffed my nails, it took her all of about 1 minute.

The kicker is that when I went to pay, she told me that buffing was an extra $3 over the regular manicure price! She never mentioned this at the outset, and when I suggested that buffing was less work than polishing, she only said "polish included in price, buffing not". I just rolled my eyes and made it clear that I thought that was ridiculous. I gave a very small tip, and after I wrote the check, the two girls started talking back and forth in Vietnamese and made disparaging sounds - I'm sure they weren't happy with my tip.

Long story short - I would not go to this nail shop again, and I will tell all my friends not to go either. Their service is mediocre at best, and they will fanagle the price so that you end up paying entirely too much for the service you get.
