Poor service and food ruined a special day. We had a horrible expereince at Bella Bru. We went there for our Father's Day breakfast. The restaurant had what appeared to be a normal flow of customers - nothing that should have been overwhelming. However, it took nearly an hour for our food to come out and they brought it out in pieces so 1 or 2 people would get their food with long gaps in between, the last person received their meal 20 minutes after the first person served, we were all eating at seperate times so the food wouldn't get cold - ridiculous! This situation was frustrating but the waitress made it worse. She hadn't checked on us for nearly 45 minutes only to tell us the kitchen was crazy and they were behind. I would expect at this point for her to offer to at least refill our hot chocolates (especially for the kids) but there was no caring for our inconvenience. Once the food started trickling out she could tell we were agitated as we kept looking around and telling anyone who walked by that we were getting frustrated she comes and tells us our meals would be on the house but when the bill arrived she said the manager would only take 20% off, on top of that they charged use nearly $2 per meal more than what the Father's Day specials menu had stated. The worst of it was after all this the food was terrible, pancakes slightly burned, dry pieces of ham and eggs that were not cooked correctly. We will NEVER go to this restaurant again!!!
Just Awful!!. The experience was absolutely awful! The food was garbage, the service was horrendous, and the manager was arrogantly rude! I will never return to such a pretentious, snooty restaurant, where the food is overpriced and overcooked, and the employees act like they're doing you a favor. The owner acted like a stuck up, cold hearted shrew who is more concerned about her own image than actually giving her guests a good experience. The only reason I'm giving them one star is because they won't let me give none!
Bad Service , Uncooked food. Breakfast after my son's baptism was a complete disappointment . We were at least 15 ( $ for Bella Bru) who were treated like cattle hearded to the unshaded tables , service was poor, the food uncooked. The manager was rude the the service slow and with attitude. We finally moved to a shaded area and finished off breakfast. I was embarrassed for my relatives that traveled from outside the country to celebrate the baptism but be disappointed in the service and attitude of the restaurant personnel. Spoke to the owner about it several times. She made promises but never kept them. I see this business going the same way as the Strings restaurant except that strings had better service and food! I will never dine at Bella Bru again. The owner could care less about the matter!
VERY impressed!. Most of the reviews I read were harsh criticisms. I must disagree. Last night was my first visit to Bella Bru. My neighbor's band, In The No was performing. The food was excellent and the service was wonderful. The food arrived quickly and the server was polite and attentive. The manager made frequent rounds, making certain that the customers were pleased. Prices were no higher than other establishments (unless you desire clogged arteries- then go to Taco Bell).
HORRIBLE SERVICE. After spending a day with my daughter at Second Saturday in downtown Sac, we decided to end our day with a dessert and cocktail at Bella Bru. I had not been there in some time but remembered the fabulous dessert display and we decided ti indulge. I wish we had opted for something else. We were shcoked that at 8:00 PM on a beautiful Saturday evening that there were only about 12 people dining. But what was worse was the service. The waitress recommended a couple of desserts only to realize there was none available? So we had a glass of wine while deciding on something else. It took 45 minutes just to get a slice of cake and our wine was almost gone by then. Our service was the slowest I had ever encountered and with only a hand full of patrons we were getting very upset. Our waitress did sense our frustration and offered a glass of wine on her. (we declined since we didn't want to wait another 4r5minutes to get it!) We would have had more fun buying a bottle of wine and a pint of ice cream at Raleys and probably spent a fraction of the $30.00 it cost us for two desserts and two glasses of wine! I've always known the owner (Liz) to be a cold snob but was hopeful things her staff and services had changed for the better in these tough times. I will NEVER go back and am recommending to all of my friends to go elsewhere. More than one has said there last experience was horrible as well and they had not intentions of returning.
The Usual Crappy Service.
I've lived in Natomas for nearly 7 years now and have been going to Bella Bru off and on for some time. In it's infancy, I can remember some great wait staff. Now, over the past couple of years, the staff has transitioned into this snobby, bitchy, pi$$ed off, self-entitled, teenage princess club. It's not like they were busy, or rushed, this was plain attitude and what I've experienced is similar to the other reviews. Today was my last trip to this place, because my meal is usually spoiled by the attitude outlined above and I refuse to spend that type of money for quite frankly the shittiest service I've ever encountered. I've handed out more goose-egg tips there than I have combined in the rest of my dining experiences. My wife even complains that i tip too much, but when the service is good, they get rewarded.
I don't know if it's a cultural attitude fostered by the owner, who is frequently seen at this particular Bella Bru. She has seated us on several occasions and quite frankly has the same snobbish attitude as the wait staff. Maybe it's a requirement to be a waitress there. For a small business owner to have such an impersonal and cold relation with her clients, and given the retracting economy, I wish her the best of luck. Natomas has grown, and so has the dining options and downtown Sac is only a small drive.
Bella Bru in Natomas has local bands on Friday nights...however, Mick Martin played this last Friday and there was not much publicity. They place should have been packed, but the crowd was light. I sat for 20 minutes waiting for service, eventually I went to the bar, got a drink and asked for service.
The service is bad, the music and food was good, overall it was a great time. Watch for the local bands, it is a great venue to listen to good music and enjoy the evening.
unfriendly, cold and snobby staff. The food is good, but the staff needs training on customer service. I just went there for some dessert for take out and the girl was snobbish, unfriendly and cold. She's this tall, thin caucasian young gal with brown, short, straight hair. No thank you or any manners whatsoever. Like, where the heck did they find this person??? I've been there three times for lunch and dinner and the service is pretty lousy. I feel all staff members need to go to customer service school.
DO NOT RECOMMEND!! To much $$ bad service and the food is just ok!. On 12/29 we took the kids and my in-laws to eat here. We got seated quick and the owner seated us and she knows who we are and when I said hi she just had attitude. The attitude also trickled down to our server! It took 10 mins for our server to get our drink order...it took another 10 minutes to get our drinks. When the waitress gave my mother in law her water, she was giving it to her from behind her chair. As she was placing it down on the table she spilled water on my mom and said to her "oh it's just water"...no sorry...no nothing. My father in law ordered a Bella Burger and he asked for fries with his order and they said they were out of fries. My two daughters ordered kids cheeseburgers. It took 30 minutes after we took our order to get our food. When the food came out the waitress dropped my husbands burger right in front of him so that took another 15 minutes to get back...this gets better both of our kids had fries on their plates when their food came out...my father in law asked for fries again and they told him AGAIN they were still out...he was confused as to why fries were on his granddaughters plates and they were still telling him that they were out..we all were!! My kids took a few bites from their burgers and they were still raw inside. I walked over to the back where the "owner" was standing and showed them. She handed me a plate where she took the burgers and said they will be coming out shortly. Shortly came around and they brought the same burgers that had bites on it and gave it back to our kids...I was just taken back that they did not make new burgers, they had just taken the the eaten burgers and threw them back on the grill...that is so gross! When the bill came, it was around $95.00, we paid and we refused to leave a tip. I am pretty bummed out about this since it was one of the "nicest" restaurants in Natomas and they have an award from the Sacramento Magazine.
