Tips for Melting Pot

It's hip to dip at this cozy fondue-lover's paradise.. In Short
Booths equipped with tabletop fondue pots are clustered together inside the intimate dining room. Start with a cheese fondue, including an assortment of breads, veggies and fruits for dipping. Entrees include lobster, center-cut filet, fish, chicken and vegetarian selections served with a variety of dipping sauces. For dessert, try the flaming turtle, a mix of chocolate and caramel flambéed tableside, served with nut-covered marshmallows, fresh fruit, pound cake, brownies and cheesecake.

raw food coming to your table for you to cook yourself while getting facial restaurant. come here if you want to throw pieces of raw food, including raw meat into a kettle of boiling water and get steam blown into your face. The only good thing about this place is the atmosphere. Picture getting a kettle , filling it with water and boiling it, and then putting raw carrots, potatoes, and chunks of steak into the kettle Kind of like making a stew. It was not tasteful in any way and I can't believe this place is even in business still!!!! It wasnt cheap either!! For being a fondue place, you would think the cheese fondue would be out of this world, but I seriously have had soooo much better at other restaurants. What a disappointment!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not worth it..... When I was a kid in the 70's, I used to use my parents' fondue forks as Play-doh toys. So as a grown-up, I wanted to see what the forks are really for. What a let down. WAAAAY too much money for not a lot of mediocre food. I spent $100 for dinner for two, and that was without going fancy. (No wine, etc.) You pay a ton of money for bits of food to dip in melted cheese or cook in sauces. After you are done, you are still kind of hungry.... Dessert is not bad, but still pricey. Nice before a show at Music Circus.

$$$ Fondu. Personally I'm not a fan of the MeltingPot. While they do a decent job in food quality and preparation and offer an unique dining experience, it's really expensive for Fondu. We make Fondu at home all the time and it's dirt cheap compare to this place. I'm not really impressed by the long wait times between courses as well. How long does it take to boil some sauces and bring a place of food for dipping?!? Typical dining takes about 2-3 hours. While I can enjoy doing that for a fine French restaurant, this is not fine French dining.

Great Special Occassion Place. We went on a Wednesday night and were surprised to find that it was still quite busy. We had reservations, however, so we were seated promptly. Our waitress was very knowledgable and helpful. We ordered a four-course meal to split between the two of us and each of us ordered the recommended wine pairing. By the time we left, I wasn't sure I'd be able to walk to the car. It was SO MUCH FOOD. Absolutely everything was delicious. My favorite was the cheese course, but the dessert was sensational too. It is a bit spendy, but no more than other nice restaurants if you ordered four courses (appetizer, salad, entree and dessert). And the ambiance is great. I can't believe there are actually negative reviews; I've never met anyone who didn't love this place.

What an Amazing Experience!. I reccomend making reservations this spot is hard to get into and for good reason. The ambiance is warm and romantic, with a feeling of privacy. The full course meal is abundent, we ordered the full course for two and the four people on our party ate all we could and there was still food to go around. The quality and freshness were surprising. Our service was PERFECT! Christy, our server, was attentive and helped guide our experience to its full potential. This is a must do for all who love good food and a wonderful dining experience. Plan on relaxing for the evening and enjoy!

One of the best in Sacramento.... The Melting Pot is one of the best restaurants in Sacramento. The staff is amazing, the food is great, and the atmosphere is very warm. The fondue experience there is always exciting and delicious. You really get what you pay for.

The people that gave the bad review obviously are not the kind of people used to eating out at finer establishments and should probably stick to their good ole BBQ or McDonalds!

Good but High Priced. The entire night was wonderful, We were seated promptly, our server was knowlegeable & friendly. We had a great time. The food was great but I felt the prices were a bit high for what the place was! If they lowered their prices a bit they would book out months in advance. We will go back for Special Occasions only.

A great date spot!. I was surprised to see negative reviews of this restaurant, as it's one of my favourite places to dine. The staff is wonderful -- prompt, friendly, and professional. The wine list at the restaurant is quite extensive (I've noticed two Awards of Excellence from Wine Spectator hanging in their front lobby), and they also have great specialty drinks and a very diverse alcohol selection.

The food may be a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. Portions are incredibly large (whoever said the portions were small must not have had all four courses, as it's all but impossible to leave the restaurant and not feel completely stuffed).

Intimate tables for dates, and also larger tables for big groups. The meal is approximately 2 hours, so you can really get to know people and have fun while enjoying great wines and food with a unique dining experience.
