Place is great and we had a party of 10.
The place rocks loved it service was perfect Ashley was amazing not to mention smoking hot we had a party of 10 and were still in in a half hour they sang and danced with my girls omg it was adorable all I can say is try it DON'T LISTEN TO HATERS they probably work at red lobster (with is not as good)and mad at JOEs
HATERS ARE EVERYWHERE!!!
Overcharged for worst service ever. Worst experience ever!!! Two of our party or 11 never got their meal, we were charged for them after we were told they would be taken off. The waitress refused to split the bill and put it all on one tab. She charged each of us for a double salad that nobody got. We were charged for 12 meals while only 9 were actually served. We never got drink refills. Worst of all, she gave herself a $100.00 tip that we had to pay!!!!
Avoid Poor Service & Crummy Food by skipping Joe Crab Shack.
The restaurant had just opened for the day so our large party of eight had no problem being seated. However, by the time we were seated the restaurant was filling fast and our waiter decided to to take all the orders in his section at one time starting with us. Needless to say, though we were first to be seated we were last to be served due to the waiter's clueless actions.
The soup, as the fish and chips was cold, the "chicken" breast was in pieces and fish served was tough and chewy.
If you are looking to have a conversation, want good food and prompt service, Joe's Crab Shack is a BAD choice.
Great place for casual seafood!.
So, I'm from San Diego and have had the best seafood all over so obviously I avoided Joe's my whole life like the plague I thought it was. However, my boyfriend finally convinced me to go and I ordered one of the new steam pots, the new england bake, and he had the one with all the crawfish and creole seasoning our first time there together. Honestly service was quick and friendly and both our food was really good, super tasty, I gave him one of my lobsters and was def. very full. We've been back multiple times and every time it has been fast friendly service and delicious food.
Sure it's not a high end restaurant, but people you get what you pay for and Joe's is a good value! And secondly, obviously its a crowded restaurant so go on off days or hours with large groups or if you just want to sit and eat quickly! Also, the outside seating is best if you want to hear who you are out with!
Tendy Sacramento in full Effect.
I have ate lunch there a couple of times. The first time I had shrimp & it tasted like the Gordons frozen shimp you get at the grocery store in the yellow box.
The second time I had the fish & chips. Not too shabby. Our group sat on the Patio.
When you sit inside, it's just to noisy.
I like to eat in peace. I have reviewed several restaurants in the Sacramento Area. To check out my Blog just Google: Sacramento Blog Uncut
The bar is great... service is terrible.
It used to be a great place to go take your family, of go out with a group of friends. But lately its hasn't been. I took my family out there on St. Patricks day, i expected the long wait. I didn't expect the cold, crummy food, nor the terrible attitude we got from the waiter or the hosts.
Three times in a row, i have found stuff in my food thats not supposed to be there. I had plastic, cellaphane type material, and hair.
The waiter there was upset because my wife wanted to sit on the patio and look out on the river and it was over crowded inside. the table he gave us had the sun beaming right on it. When i asked for another table, he got in a hurumph and tried to put me at another table with sun. So i picked up my thing and told him which one i wanted and sat there. He then walked away and complained to the other waitress, sent her over to take our order, and didn't see him until he gave us the check. Did i mention the food was terrible.
So so seafood...good atmosphere. I'm always a little skeptical about seafood in central CA, but this was not too bad. I got the crab steampot that came with some crab legs (not super meaty unfortunately), potatoes, corn on the cob, and sausage. The crab legs were the most mediocre part, unfortunately. The rest of the food was great. Overall I think it is the atmosphere that keeps people coming back to this place. Their servers are very friendly and put on some fun shows throughout the evening. It is a very fun place to go eat on a Friday night down by the river in Sacramento.
SO MUCH FUN!!!!. The crab shack is amazing! It is so much fun, the wait is long but obviously that means something good! I had great drinks, and when i finally go to the table i had a great crab dip it was wonderful, i also order there fire steampot, i had a fabulous drink a pomagranite mararita, my server said, i could get a extra shot for 99 cents!!! i have a great time!
A colorful seafood restaurant for kids of all ages--especially the younger ones..
In Short
Admittedly kitschy, unavoidably noisy, this Red Lobster for rug rats is like an oversized seaside shanty awash in oceanic memorabilia--fishing nets, souvenir trinkets, plastic flotsam and jetsam. Staffed with a lively crew of G-rated table-dancing servers, the family-friendly chain anchors its menu in all things crab: Crab balls, crab cakes, crab dip, crab gumbo. Finicky children opt for corndogs or hamburgers; shellfish-phobic adults dine on rib eye steak or mesquite-grilled chicken.
