Editorial Review for Avalon Bar and Nightclub – by Lily Fu
In Short
Decorated with elegant, pleated wall fabrics and chandeliers, the 10,000-foot space offers 20- and 30-something clubbers a classy experience. The main room features a Brazilian cherry-wood dance floor, an elevated area with banquette seating and bottle-serviced spacious booths. Another room houses a curved bar, neon-lit wall panels of liquor and lounge seating. Local and touring bands play live music on some nights, while others feature DJs playing house, rock, salsa, hip-hop and '80s hits.

I do not recommend this club for anyone who is looking for a good time. The bartenders (mike) are extremely rude as well as some of the bouncers. The drinks are the smallest and most expensive in town... the owners need to hire all new employees and clean the place up, it's discusting!! Also, what's up with all the fashion shows? totally over rated and completely un-necessary! Upscale club I DON"T THINK SO.
Cons: Entire Experience

When this placed opened it was the #1 place to go to. They were really strict on the dress code, tried to keep it classy, and at the time had the best outdoor area. What happens to a lot of clubs, is after the hype dies down and people stop coming, clubs get desperate for customers and they lower their standards. This is what has happened to Avalon. The amount of bars is good. The outdoor area is big. But the bathroom is in a HORRIBLE location and there is only 2 stalls in the Womens bathroom. There is no place to sit in the main room. The clothes that people wore shocked me. Some of the tackiest, cheap, stuff I have ever seen. The music is WACK. If you are going to play old stuff have it be stuff that we want to hear, not Baby Got Back. When I showed up I was on the list, I had a friend who knew the promoter. Not to sound like an ego maniac, but if you are on the list you must be a little bit important and should get in no problem. The line for "VIP" was wrapped around the building. How can there be that many VIPs? There shouldn't be. The whole point of VIP is the best dancers, best dressed, and best attitude should get in to create a certain vibe. How can you do that when you have no limits on the guest list. They obvisously have no standards and it shows.
Pros: Location
Cons: Everything else
