Professional Photo Shoot for Head Shot

Ray was amazing! I needed a few business pictures for new marketing material and Ray did a wonderful job. He met with me ahead of time to better understand my goals for the pictures and provided valueable recommendations for how to dress for the photo shoot.

During the photo shoot, Ray helped me feel comfortable which I know made a difference in the quality of the shots. I was nervous going in but, was surprised at how enjoyable the session was. And, the results were great! I highly recommend Ray for business photo shoots!

I recently had a fun photo shoot with Ray Johnston at his studio just around the corner from the Bo Tree in Davis. With his sharp creative eye and his knowledge of lighting, backgrounds and yoga he came up with some incredible asana images in both black and white and color.

Browsing around his studio, II was equally impressed with the incredible photos he has taken of babies. He should put a book together. The artistic images of infants that he has would melt would melt the heart of anyone.

Fun family Photograph

We contacted Ray Johnston with the hope that he could accommodate us for a family portrait during the holidays. It was the perfect time when our three sons and their families would be visiting from out of state. There were thirteen of us and all different ages.....Ray helped to keep our photo shoot comfortable, fun, and a great experience for all of us. He captured us in a perfect artistic light with a wonderful insight into who we were. We made a wonderful memory that day and have a beautiful family portrait we will always treasure.

A True Artist

After doing some research I settled on Ray Johnston. From the moment I walked in his studio I knew he was the one I wanted to work with. I could tell by his knowledge, the pieces hanging in his studio, and the appearance of his studio that I was going to be working with a true artist. He struck a graceful balance between dispensing his knowledge and listening to my vision. He was incredibly supportive in helping me realize my vision while also putting a beautiful and subtle part of himself into each of my photos. I would absolutely, without a doubt, work with him again and to get to the end of this review and not just recognize Sarah, but also give her credit along with Ray for the amazing editing job on my photos and her great customer service would be a disservice to Ray Johnston Designer Photography! I look forward to working with you both again very soon!

Best Baby Photographer!!

We just had Ray shoot our 9 month old daughters Baby-Portraits and I must say.... he is amazing with babies! He was so calm during our photo session, took time for outfit changes, made sure the lighting was perfect and saw to it that our baby girl was having a blast. The professional portraits were just that...Professional! Our baby was happy and comfortable and the high end - end product was amazing! So many great images! He truly captured our daughters personality and showcased this wonderful age.
