I read all the negative reviews from emotional people. Lawyers aren't magic. Clients need to be pro active with their cases. Shaun has been extremely helpful and so far honest and straight up with me. I'm happy I found him. I would use him again, and recommend him to others.

WARNING!!! Do not use this lawyer unless you want your money stolen from you. I hired Sean to do my bankruptcy..paid him $1,800 and never heard from him again. Left many messages (NOT ONE of them returned). Long story short, I am out the $1,800 and my bankruptcy was NEVER done. This is not an issue of what quality of work he did or a matter of what opinion I might have....he took my money and did NOTHING on my bankruptcy case. It is shocking to me that a Lawyer could be this unethical. It is so disgusting. No matter what you hear about him, please do not use him!!

Worst Lawyer ever. DO NOT use him, he only wants to take your money. Does a poor job of representing you. Had a Federal Indictment filed against him in 2010. The State Bar filed charges against him in Sept. 2011 and again in Feb., 2012; then they enrolled him as inactive due to irreparable harm to his clients (he can't practice). Three of the persons here who wrote notes saying he was a good lawyer are himself, his paralegal's wife and paralegals son, so don't believe those "phony positive coments." The State Bar has a big warning on his State Bar profile warning people that they have filed a case against him because of major missappropriation of client funds!

Sean Gjerde was handling my divorce case, I was never notified of a court hearing, and thus judgment was entered in the case. I have filed a complaint with the state bar and would advise anyone else that has had problems to do the same.

It looks like he was reinstated on 2/16/12. We paid him to file a bankruptcy in 2010. The bankruptcy was never filed. We have requested repeatedly for him to file or return our funds. All we get is the run around. We have a complaint on file with the CA Bar that is being investigated. Please file against him if you've had money stolen from you too. A slap on the wrist is not enough. He needs to be disbarred! Read the Consumer Alert through the link if you have any doubt if this man is a thief!

SEAN GJERDE NEVER TOOK ANY MONEY. Someone commented that Sean “stole $80,000 from some poor old lady, deeded her house to himself and then sold it”. Let me start by saying this is directed towards me, Renee Wheeler. I am actually in the middle of filing a lawsuit against the State Bar for what the State Bar has done to me. I can assure everyone that Sean has not stolen any money from me. Sean has been very kind and has helped me out very much! I resent everyone calling me an old lady. I am currently enrolled full time in college and don’t view myself as an “old lady”. I am very young. I think these negative posts are false and negative.

YOUR CRAZY. I have had many experiences with attorney's throughout my divorce and child custody issues with my ex husband. I want to say that Sean handled my case wonderfully. Not only did you help me and the other party work out a full agreement, but he helped me get a court order that my ex husband pay all of his fees!!!! Before Sean, no attorney could get my ex to even negotiate. I ended up being refunded all of my money after he collected on the order for my ex to pay all of my attorney fees. Thank you so much Sean!

Sean P Gjerde is unprofessional and irresponsible. WARNING people don't hire this man ,he just want to steel your money,we hire this man for child support purposes ,he promise to help me out ,but he never file anything at court ,plus in this moment he is suspended, so he can't take any new cases, so be careful with this man the only thing he cares is to fill out his pockets with his dirty lies plus his aspect and the way he treats people aren't from a professional ,his stuff are also rude and unprofessional. DON'T BELIEVE IN HIS LIES I really don't know how he got his degree . boooooo for you Sean. ohh and by the way the only reason why i rated him with one star its because it does not lets me proceed .

Do Not Hire This Man. Do not hire this man! He is currently under investigation by the FBI in a multi-million dollar real estate scam. He showed up late to all of our court appearences. He made numerous promises to me that he did not keep. He made unnecessary court dates just to charge $1,200 for each one that the judge even claimed were not needed.To top it all off, he doesn't bother to let me know that he is supended from practicing law for the next 60 days, so he doesn't call or even show up at our last court appearance. What kind of attorney abandons you in the middle of your divorce and doesn't have the decency to call? To add insult to injury, he submits a bill claiming I owe him an additional almost $5k above and beyond the $4k I've already paid after he abandons me. I now have no money to hire a new attorney in the middle of my divorce and have to fight back against the frivilous charges he is still trying to charge me. This man is a liar, a crook, and preys on people that are in deperate need of help, just to steal their money to line his dirty pockets.

Gotta Say!!!. I am so happy! I met with 6 attorney's all together. I found that no attorney would take my case for less than $5,000.00. I realized my case wasn't that complicated, but rather I still couldn't do it myself and needed help. Mr. Gjerde employed a paralegal that helped me throughout most of the process. His hourly rate was half the price of the attorney and when it came time to going to court, the attorney was there. All in all I only spent $3,000.00.

I expected I wouldn't get everything I was looking for in court, but after we finished I got even more than I expected! THANKS SEAN
