Geek Squad- What a joke!.
My parents TV went out, naturally they are older and can't miss an episode of Golden Girls. We called Geek Squad who said they would be out between 12 and 4 on Thursday. We gave them our phone number just in case.
Took the afternoon off work to be there to help answer questions my parents probably wouldn't know about. Decided to call at 2 because we hadn't heard anything. Yes we were on the schedule and should have someone there soon. Called at 4:15 and was told the serviceman couldn't help with a Philips TV so he wouldn't make it. Also showed they tried to come by but we were listed in a different state...huh. 2 more excuses and no apology. They could set us up for next Monday...no thanks. I'll find a guy in the yellow pages that probably needs the work instead of big box chains that don't care about customer service. I think they deserve 0 stars...but I'm forced to give them 1.
Geek Squad Alternative. At one point or another we all need computer repair help and I am no different. I found myself in need at the worst possible moment. In the middle night, when everything is closed and the night before a report is due. I called Geek Squad online support for help and was charged for the $199 virus removal service. They connected to my pc and attempted to remove the problem. After a couple of hours and a whole lot of coffee and nail biting they call me back and say there is nothing they can do. This time, the guy I spoke to had a heavy accent and seemed to be calling from overseas. And long with this and the fact they said the virus is too embedded to be removed without causing further damage and system instability. I get off the disappointing phone call and am still sweating because this report is 35% of my overall grade in this course and I absolutely had to have this done in the morning. I run a quick Google search for a solution when I find SecureRemoteSupport[dot]com who provides online services and have a “No Fix No Pay” guarantee. Wow that would be nice if Geek Squad offered the same promise. Within an hour they had diagnosed the virus and had removed it completely for $105. And best of all, I didn’t lose any of my work and my operating system was completely repaired. Apparently the Geek Squad isn’t as good at their job as secureremotesupport[dot]com is. I really appreciate their diligence on fixing my issue and suggest others think twice before contacting Geek Squad to fix their computer.
Not all that.
Geek Squad took their sweet time when it came to fixing my computer that had crashed.
I use my computer for business and time is money.
They help onto my computer for almost an entire month before it was finished.
And by finished, I mean in nearly the same working condition id taken it to them in.
It still wasnt running properly and I couldnt access all my important files.
I was highly upset the work wasnt completed properly, upset Id paid for nearly nothing and upset to think Id have to send it back for another extended period of time.
I was told through the grapevine about another computer repair company called Secure Remote Support. Rumor was they could fix just about anything in a shorter period of time with better rates.
I gave them a try and was pleased to learn everything id heard was right.
I was very pleased with my experience.
I called the tech at 10p and by the next afternoon everything was good as new.
I would highly reccomend them to anyone serious about having their computer fixed right.
www.SecureRemoteSupport(dot)com is reliable, affordable and efficient.
Ive delt with this people THEY SUCK!. Ive sent in a laptop and they say there going to update me, so i leave it there for 3 days I had to call THEM to find out if the computer is getting repaired it took me 10 min on the phone to get a response from someone, after and then they tell me that i have to give them the reboot disk. Of course, and i tell them when is it going to be done, they cant even estimate the time for me, Note all there going to do is replace the ram and reboot it. which is something simple, now being the 5th day there they still haven't even installed the new RAM, and the idiot i was talking to say is going to be done by mid day so i said by 12:00 and he told me No? they don't even know how to talk plus who the hell uses mid-day.. well anyways im telling anybody thats reading this, this geek squad sucks
