Thanks for the great laminate choice JB! It was easy to install and the color looks great. Please bring in more handscraped....
Simple Floors: Terrible Customer Service. No matter what franchise you buy from, if you have a problem with their flooring, you must deal with their national customer service dept. who will systematically and categorically deny any claim you have. Once you pay your money, you are at their mercy, and they will stick it to you. I guarantee it.
My name is Debbie, my husband & I own Sac Simplefloors. I was confused by your review, until I realized you purchased your flooring in SanDeigo, not Sacramento. You are correct, Simplefloors locations are independently owned & operated. However Sac Simplefloors handles all concerns & claims in-house. We have never used a national customer service dept., as well feel that we are in the best position to assist our clients from start to finish. I hope your situation has been resolved.
Love my flooring!. I got a Hickory wood floor. Its hand scraped which is good because I have a big black lab dog. I already had hardwood in my house when I moved in so I just put this flooring in other rooms that had carpet. Everyone loved the one I installed myself better than the other floor. It was pretty easy to install once I fixed a subfloor issue my house had. The cost was cheaper than replacing the rooms with carpet. Extremely happy and once I have the budget considering replacing the rest of the house.
This store's product is AWFUL!.
We went with the Steinway Cherry Artisan Flooring because it appeared to be beautiful and durable. How wrong we were! We have used laminate flooring in the past and it was a well-known, slightly more expensive brand. We should have stuck with what we knew and trusted but we wanted to save some money.
We purchased 1,200 square feet of this product. When you install, the sides chip off showing the green underlayment. The topcoat chips off easily and forget the durability if you drop ANYTHING on it. In addition, it is not glueless. If you do not glue each strip together at the top, they pull apart within 24 hours, leaving wide gaps between planks.
I contacted Simple Floors because the product is supposed to have an AC3 wear rating and should not damage like this. I offered to drive back the defective planks. According to their sales department, I have to PAY for one of THEIR inspectors to come verify that it is defective and the cost was $400! You tell me how neutral that inspector would have been.
We are now in the process of pulling up ALL of the flooring we have installed as it is useless.
Bottom line---DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! These people are scam artists with a horrible product.
I recently remodeled my house and tried to go a "green" as possible. I spoke to many companies nationwide to gain knowledge about bamboo flooring. I found Simplefloors through HGTV's Green Guide. They listed Simplefloors as the place to get bamboo flooring.
I drove up to Simplefloors, an hour and a half, after talking with Debbie on the phone. Once I arrived I was greeted immediately and with a smile. The knowledge that the employees had was amazing. Debbie was incredible to work with and very patient.
Regarding the product. This was my first time using/installing bamboo floors. I've heard horror stories about how hard it can be and such but I found it to be really easy. I purchased the Senco SHF50 floor nailer and had my floors installed, 670 sq ft, in less than five evenings. Keep in mind that I have never installed flooring before and this was done after work each evening. Everything turned out perfect! I have had numerous compliments on my floor and have found it to be very gratifying to own. I had no issues installing it and with the help and customer service that I received from the staff, especially Debbie and Jason, I could not have asked for a better and easier project. Thank you to all of you at Simplefloors in Sacramento.
What I hoped for!. I was looking for flooring and a friend recommended simplefloors. I checked it out, the sales girl was very helpful. She had pictures of my flooring so I could see what it would look like. She refered me to an installation company locally that was helpful and pretty cheap. Its the second day of my installation and I couldn't be happier.
Cork flooring - was the best I have found.
I looked all over the internet and local stores and stumbled upon simplefloors while going to the quilting store next door. The cork flooring I got has cork on the back and top, it locks together like a pergo floor so I installed it myself with some help. I'm happy with the llook and it was great to be able to go green and I did it cheap! I did have to wait for a week for it to arrive, because it was not here in sacramento at the time.
I would shop here again if i needed more flooring.
I agree that everyone should have a voice and be able to express their views and feelings. That being said, my name is Debbie, I am one of the owners of Simplefloors and am requesting the chance to respectfully reply to the review listed below.
Dustin contacted my company with his concerns about the flooring?s installation capabilities at the home where he was currently working. We ask many questions when someone calls in with a difficulty so that we have a clear understanding of the situation and the most appropriate advice is given. I spoke with Dustin personally and felt that he handled himself very well by describing the situations and providing excellent information about the installation. I felt that our communication was one of mutual respect, with resolution being the goal of both parties. When a resolution was unable to be reached, I hired an independent inspector to go to the home where Dustin was working to discover the cause of the installation difficulties. This independent inspector is a private third party company that is by law required to be impartial. The inspector was thorough and discovered that the home?s humidity level was at 22%. Industry standards and the manufacturer both agree that the home must be in range of 35%-55% humidity for the health of the floor. Proper humidity is essential for all wood products in a home from cabinets, musical instruments, to flooring. Prior to installing a floor, the industry requires that the installer determine the home and the flooring to be at appropriate levels of humidity. The determination of the inspector was that the flooring was sound and found free of defects. The product in question is one of our most popular floors and has been a running line of ours since August 2006. To date the only claim against this flooring is the job Dustin was installing. Although it?s known that you cannot please everyone we do try and we wish Dustin all the best for his future installations.
Take it from an installer......do not buy from this place!. My customer purchased a strand woven bamboo from Simple Floors and as an installer I am unable to install it. The janka hardness rating is 3000, yet the Premium Green Bamboo install intructions say you can staple or nail this product. Reputable mills who produce a similarly hard product will tell you you can only glue their product as when it is that hard tongues splinter, staples or nails won't drive in, and even if they do leave surface dimples which are unacceptable. Unfortunately I can't glue down the product because the milling is so terrible there would be gaps in the floor small children could fall in and disappear forever. The boxes say the product is 1/2" thick by 3 3/4" wide......neither of those measurements are accurate. The install brochure refers to the product as 5/8". The product is actually 7/16". Try to get service and you are ridiculed and your install abilities questioned, yet I have talked to 6 other installers who have had similar problems with these strand woven epoxy filled bamboos. They were nice enough to send an inspector out who was obviously so biased and set on protecting Simple Floors from having to replace the floor it wasn't even funny. I am still waiting for him to return my two calls and have been waiting about 3 weeks for the manager of Simple Floors to call me back. This place is a joke and basically a secondhand hardwood store. Buyers beware.....YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!
Best place I found to buy bamboo flooring.
I found a bamboo floor at simplefloors, they carry a tougher bamboo and its made with water based adhesive and is 100% percent organicly grown.
I felt really good about the flooring and everyone that helped me was really nice. I would shop here again.
