Wonderful store. One of the biggest store in Sacramento. They have EVERYTHING! loove it!
I really enjoy coming to this store. The people are very friendly and helpful. I just like the fact that when I walk in to the store someone always says hello with a smile on their face. The prices are great and the products are great as well. I know that Singh's is one place I can find fresh products which are not expired. They are also very good at keeping a good variety of products and always have everything in stock so I never have to turn back and go to another store. I recommend this store.
I have to say this is one of the best Indian Stores I have been to. We have been shopping at this store for a while. Allot of our relatives shop here as well. The people here are very friendly and helpful and will go out of their way to help you. They have such a great variety of products and unlike other Indian stores I have been to have prices on their product and actually offer a receipt. Just like American stores their register is out in the open where you can actually see them ring you up not hidden behind a pile of junk. The prices are good and honestly speaking if the prices are one or two dollars more I still buy it because the products are very fresh and have expiration dates on them. I definitely recommend this place.
This store is lame. I definitely agree wtih the people who are saying this store is rude and unprofessional in their service.
Whenever my family goes in the store, the store owners don't smile, they don't ask how you are, or anything. They have this "Give us your money and leave" attitude. Another thing, they always cold stare at you like you're about to steal something when shopping!! Man that gets so irritating!!
So this one time my parents asked my sister to go by some mango aachar form here, and my sis called this store to ask them how much it will be so that my parents give her the right amount of money. The lady at the store goes we don't give the price over the phone, you have to come to the store and see. Dude, we live in Elk Grove, it's not like we live across the street where we can go check your price when it's not that hard to tell us the price of 1 item in your store over the phone. Then she hangs up, downright rude. I don't understand why people want to make other people's lives more difficult.
Not only is their service bad, but their products are hit or miss. You either get a fresh good product or something that tastes expired. My mom noticed their emile ke chatni we bought from there was stale, gross man, people can get sick off products like that. At least, keep all your products fresh.
And another thing, I would never send my younger sister or mom to go this store alone! This area is in the worst place possible!! Even my college professor has mentioned to our class that the Shell Gas Station located across the street and Dollar Tree in the same complex has been robbed so many times, because the freeway is right there! Statistics show that places near the freeway in poor areas (aka ghetto lol) are more frequently robbed. Even the Food Source across the street, always has cops there, but still, my friend had her purse stolen right from her arms. So a word of caution, keep your wallet hidden, and don't go to this store by yourself or let your kids or mom go by themselves! That's why these stores on Mack Road close so early too.
I can say for sure that my family and I will NOT be shopping here anymore either. It's not worth it. We would rather go to a store that makes us feel welcome and has fresh products. Singh's Oceania just makes us mad in whatever they do, whether its their bad service or some bad products. Lame sums it up ;)
Rude, Unprofessional, Disrespct – Singh 's Oceania Supermarket- very rude owner and his wife and daughter,I had been there three times -this girl always at the cash register-always rude- yesterday - I picked up coconut oil the bottle was leaking- I told her the coconut oi...l is leaking from the bottle, she started blaming me for opening it-she said she saw me open the bottle, I was so confused not sure why she was screaming at me, I said was already leaking-and has oil all over some on my hand, I asked for some tissue to wipe off, she won't give me tissue instead started arguing over leaking oil, she was forcing me to buy it and I refused, she called me names and told me to get out of her store, I am an American, lived here forever, never came across any store big or small, where customers are accused and blamed and bad mouthed , are these people insane-so I complained to the owner her father, told him I will complain-he said go ahead do so we don't care. I was so upset- my last shopping there!
Disrespect – June 16,2010
Okay so today was my mom’s day off. We had to do some shopping due to the BBQ and we needed to get some other grocers. Well we went to this store called Singh’s Oceania it’s off of Mack Rd and Valley Hi. We have been going there ever since it opened. Well from the starting the man that owns the store his daughter worked in the front. She was nice and knew how to do there business. And when customers have questions and all, she would nicely answer them; same goes for the man that owns the store. Well today they weren’t in the store Mr. Singh’s younger daughter was in the store as well as his wife. My mother and I were shopping and all went to the cash register to cash our things and leave. Well my mom wanted to get this spice and she didn’t know what the Indian name for it was so she thought to ask. Mr. Singh’s wife, she was so rude and was like you should know what the name is, you’re Indian. I thought to my self well sorry some of us don’t know it and is it a crime to ask a question. Then my mom asked about a pack of noodles because she didn’t want to get five chicken noodles, ( she takes noodles to work for lunch on some days and on some days she doesn’t eat meat), so my mom asks do you guys sell the noodles separately like you did before. Mr. Singh’s wife goes off on my mom and was like WHAT WE HAVE ON THE SHELF THATS ALL WE HAVE. YOU PEOPLE ONLY WANT TO TALK. THERE’S OTHER INDIAN STORES OUT HERE YOU CAN GO TO THEM. SHE ALSO SAID THAT SHE DIDN’T HAVE TIME FOR US BECAUSE SHE HAS OTHER CUSTOMERS TO SERVE. (We are a customer and you should be serving us right now). At that time I didn’t like how she raised her voice against my mother. Then I said “she asked you a question you don’t have to be so rude about it”. She didn’t say anything at that time. Then she comes back and was like “you guys ask hundred questions”. Last time I checked we only asked two. If you can’t count, I don’t think you should be running a store. And you need to go back to the first grade and learn your numbers again. She was so disrespectful. I have notice every time you go to there store and ask for help they never come an extra mile to helping you. They never leave the counter place. They guide you from there and assume you know where it is. If we knew where it was we wouldn’t be asking you in the first place! And when ever you call there store to check if they have a product you want they never answer the phone. Why keep a phone if you can’t answer it.
I can say for a fact that none of our family members will be returning to Singh’s Oceania.
