Watch your wallet!

Don't trust their on hold music. Customer Service is the last thing on this companies mind. Getting your money is first. Going on three weeks since they first came out to fix my LG refrigerator and still not fixed. They charge $70 just to come out and the rates very depending on where you live. The first time they came out I was charged $125 just to look at the 2.5 year old refrigerator and that was after I complained about wanting $200. All the tech did was look in the back of the unit and then said he didnt have the parts on his truck, it would take a few days.... A few days (4 total) goes by, no call or email. So I called myself. Three more days later, he comes out again, opps wrong parts. Comes back the third time and now my compressor is bad. Tech tells me he would get back to me on the cost to repair. Three more days go by, I have to call them again. LG says the part was under warranty. Folsom Lake Appliance said it wasn't and would cost me for the part and $560 for labor to install. In the end they wanted about $900 to fix my unit.

I called LG, just to be told that installation of a compressor should only be $150 at the most and the unit would have been shipped to them overnight at no charge.

I called the owner (or the guy who said he was the owner) and told him what LG had told me (which I recorded for my records). He just said, he charges his own labor hours. He did give me a partial refund after telling him how poor his customer service was. Refrigerator is still not fixed. LG is sending someone out to repair it right and at $150.

I would suggest not using this company. I hope my story helps someone not go through the same nightmare I did.

Great example of Great Service

by Blinky5510 at Citysearch

From the friendly staff answering the phones to the follow up phone call making sure my appliance was fixed a few days after the tech completed his job, I had great service from this company. I would use them again and recommend them to others. They didnt over charge me either.

What were they thinking ?!

by Mecit at Citysearch

Charged $60 for service call, and asked $500 to fix an 8 years old dishwasher that needed the electronic control panel replaced. Unfortunately with that the whole console assembly needed to be replaced since the "start" button didn't have the cover anymore, and that's what caused the panel to fail in the first place. The price was split at $200 for the panel and the rest for the door. When asked about parts prices, I was told that the control panel costs $120 while I saw it for $56 online and it says the MSRP is $71 (same price SEARS would charge). Clearly they didn't want to do the job, or I can't explain how they expect people to pay $500 to repair a dishwasher. They also refused to install the panel if I had bought the part myself for $60 online (new from a dishwasher repair parts store only!). Guess what? I can remove 15 screws and a ribbon cable myself !

Poor customer service

by NotHappyCustomer123 at Citysearch

Very poor customer service. Ordered the wrong item, but they refused to return/exchange the part, even though it was unused (unopened). After multiple emails/phone calls, I was told that they have a "no return - no refund policy". However, I purchased the item over the phone via credit card, and this policy was not comunicated to me at the point of sale. This is just bad business practice. I do not recomend Folsom Lake Apppliance repair for parts. Also, if this is how they treat walk-in customers, I wonder how they treat repair calls? Do they charge you for work, even if they don't do it? Do they charge you for work, even if it turns out to be the wrong work?

I DO NOT RECOMEND THIS COMPANY.

  • Pros: none that I can think of
  • Cons: Bad customer service. Bad return policy. No concern for customer satisfaction.
