Exceptional salon. I have been a client at Hoshall for YEARS for both hair and nails and can PROMISE that you will be thrilled with your experience... I feel those who feel unwelcome already feel badly about themself and are reading into what simply isn't there. The receptionists are always friendly, their stylists (hair and nail) are very skilled (for nails, see Diane)...

Recently I was foolish enough to try going blond at home. I ended up copper! I called Hoshall and they were able to give me my blonde highlights amongst the copper for a fabulous result.

I also feel confident that they are a clean salon that uses GOOD products. You will never smell strong fumes there and will find an emaculately maintained salon. Perfection... worth every penny!

Also, the designer moisture wash shampoo is TO DIE FOR! It smells amazing and is fabulous... the soy sheen conditioner is fabulous as well...

Former 12 year customer. This salon was at the top of their game in the late 90's into the early 2000's. Now, not so much. I was a customer from 1996 to early 2008, but no longer. They are inconsistant, and not at all mindful of their clients time. On several occasions they made me wait for over 25 minutes beyond my appointment time for a hair cut. In addition, the last 4 times I had anything done in the salon I had to return for a "correction" appointment. The women in the salon are often snotty, and dont really listen to what you want. I asked on one occasion for a certain color and was given another with out the stylist saying she changed the color. She told me when it was time to pay that she thought the color she picked was better. (It was my natural hair color)

I would suggest looking for a well trained stylist in another salon.

Best salon & spa in Sacramento, hands down!. I've been a loyal Hoshall's customer for years. Not only do they provide expert hair care, but the salon is gorgeous and the spa is luxurious. (I highly recommend the designer facial!) On top of that, the staff is incredible!! Some of the previous reviews commented on service, but it has been my experience over the last 10+ years that the staff members are very accommodating and will do everything in their power to make you happy. All you have to do is ask!!! Hoshall's is in the business of making people feel beautiful and they are excellent at what they do!

Salon and Spa of Sacramento. I recieved a gift card to the salon and spa, I was highly impressed,Beautiful Setting, Friendly Staff, I received an ultimate massage, OMG!!! most do this treatment it is a 5 star massage.

I also had my hair done,They really took the time to get to know me,as a result my hair is perfect, I have had so many compliments

no wonder they are #1 in Sacramento Magazine 6 years running

all hype no substance. Sacramento magazine gives this salon its highest rating and I wonder why. I went there for the first time last month for a spiral perm. Before booking an appmt. I had to be seen for a "consultation". I specifically told the "expert stylist" that I wanted a full spiral perm for defined curls. She booked me for the soonest available appmt, (3 weeks out) with their most expensive stylist"perm expert". The day of my appmt. the stylist said in his expert opinion that a regular perm was better than a spiral. I ended up paying $220.00 for slight waves that are straight one month later. It was very disappointing and I would definitely recommend researching other salon options before choosing this one simply because of its commercial image and endorsements.

Great Stylists, Rude Receptionists. I've been to this salon twice, with the same experience both times. When I walked in, the receptionist was catty, demeaning, and greeted me and other customers with a sneer. The stylist, however, was friendly, skillful, and made me look great. When I went to pay, I had to deal with the horrible beotch receptionist again. Its too bad because I would be a regular customer if I felt welcome there.

First and Last Time. If you enjoy being treated as a second class citizen whose time is unimportant, then Hoshall's is for you. After waiting 20 minutes to be seen, I had a wash, cut, and blowdry. I expected my hair to look at least "different". My hair looked the same. I then was asked to pay $100!!! What?!? I had called the salon prior to get a quote, and was quoted $65. When I asked why the price was so high, the receptionist said, "She's a Master Stylist...besides, we can't give quotes over the phone". "Then why DID you give me a quote over the phone?". "We can't tell what your hair looks like over the phone, honey." After finding out that a squirt of gel costs $6 to apply when I could own the bottle for $10, I had had ENOUGH. I will NEVER go there ever again. Two words: STAY AWAY!!!!!

amazing service. Haircut and color are done by true experts! Color is absolutely vibrant and exactly what expected! Azzie, she is also one of the owners, can do amazing things with long hair, the way she cuts and colors. Worth every penny.
