My husband and I have been going to this spa for about 9 months, on a monthly basis. We are repeat customers. Sometimes we encounter someone who speaks English, sometimes not. We feel the quality of massage is excellent. I always request the same woman and my husband has had massages from about 4 different women. They all use deep tissue massage techniques, manipulating the muscles and connecting tissues. Sometimes they get up on the table and use their elbows to get deep into hard to reach areas. It is ultimately relaxing but can boarder uncomfortable. They always ask "too much". It never has been for me. I have shoulder issues and always feel so much better after a session. If you are looking for a soft, purely relaxing massage, this might not be for you. But if you want a great massage to relieve stress on sports related muscles or help with back issues, etc. this is the place.
Injured. If there was a rating for "No Stars" or "Negative Stars" that is what I'd give them. First off, they do not speak a lick of English which is difficult because I was unable to explain to them my needs. I was also unable to explain that the guy massaging me was doing it way too hard. It was painful the whole time. Every time I said it was too hard, he would nervously laugh and continue what he was doing. The next day I was incredibly sore on my lower back; not the good sore, the sore where when I touched my skin it hurt. The day after, a large bruise had formed along with popped blood vessels. I went back to the "spa" to explain this and he didn't understand what I was saying. He had to call someone who could translate for us. After explaining my situation and just wanting a simple refund, she said that they could only do a $10 refund because the rest of my body was fine. How badly do I have to be injured to get a simple refund? Seriously?! I told her that it was unacceptable to not only injure a client but to injure a client and refuse a refund! As nicely and non-threatening as I could put it, I told her that I did not want to involve lawyers; that I did not want to hurt their company's reputation. After she explained this to the man I was talking to, he laughed nervously and pulled out a cash refund from his pocket for me and kept saying sorry. I hate to do this companies but I hate more-so that companies take advantage of their customers. Do NOT go this place. You can get a better quality massage and experience at Massage Envy or almost any other place where an English speaking person runs the place.
BEWARE. This place is a joke and I am still confused how they obtained a license in this city. Not one person there speaks a word English. They are very difficult to deal with given that fact. Also, there is no front desk person who works there so when you go in for your massage they keep leaving you every time the phone rings or someone walks in since the massage therapist are doing double duty. They even left me every time another massage was done and they had to collect money. My son and I were together and the person who was doing his massage also kept leaving the room. Finally when it came time for me to pay the bill they didn’t understand how much I wanted to tip, they add the amount into the transaction. They do not have the credit machine that allows the tip to be filled in. I told them $5 dollar tip for two $20 dollar foot massages. Total should have been $45.00. Man behind the counter runs my credit card and hands me the slip to sign that says $51.00 and says there is a $1.00 fee for CC. Then when I tell him he charged me too much, he looks at the other lady behind the counter who also does not speak English and they don’t know what I am saying. I demand that they either reverse my CC payment and put in the correct amount or give me the cash to make up for the difference. They finally handed me a $5 bill before I left. 24 hours later I notice that they charged my Debit Card $51 three different times. I call and of course not one person that is there speaks one word of English and say they don’t know what I am saying. All I understood is they told me to come in. Now why do I want to drive all the way back there and go back and forth with someone that owns a business in Folsom that does not speak one word of ENGLISH! I have filed a complaint with the City of Folsom and have had to fill out paperwork with my bank to dispute the charges. All while Super 5 Spa has taken $153.00 out of my checking account without my permission. How convenient that they don’t speak the language to correct their error. I will never go to this place again and beware of this business.
