Think of it as a convenience store with tables and chairs, but no cigarettes or gas.

The Scene
Minimal decor with maximum space. There's a few tables, most of which teeter back and forth, making soup a particularly challenging meal. Easy access from nearby businesses and off-street parking attract clientele. The selection of muffins, pastries and coffee drinks makes The Bread Store a quick fix for Midtown workers, who can peruse the bulletin board or read a local weekly while they wait.
The Food
The menu consists of sandwiches, soup and salads. The selection and price of sandwiches is good, but the pastrami is stringy. The bread is tasty, but sliced so thick it overpowers the contents, which is none too generous. Remember those mushy noodles in the soup your mom used to mix with half a can of water and heat up for you on rainy days? You'll find them here in the daily soup selections. The chicken noodle was particularly bland.
great place for lunch

I have to say that every time I am craving a sandwich my mind now wanders to thougths of The Bread Store. They serve huge, entirely scrumptious sandwiches fast and exactly how you like them. I highly recommend their tuna sandwich on Honey Wheat - also their soups and other bakery selections are awesome!!
