Great after a hike. A few friends and I went here after a hike and loved it. The service was great and the ice cream sundaes were awesome!

Great Place!!. When I go out to eat, I expect to pay a lot for my meal. I also expect to get a lot of food for that money. I'm a bit of a foodie and only want the best. Well, this place did deliver a great meal that I really enjoyed, only the portion was so small that I left feeling hungry still. The price wasn't worth the meal. However, the ambiance is very nice.

under rated. I was met at the door by charming friendly people. My order was correct and ready to go when I got there. The steak and egg special was delicious !!! Only $4.99 the new york strip was tender and well seasoned the red potato hash browns with green onions was crisp, hot and savory . My eggs were cooked as I requested. I got my order to go but I wished I had eaten there. The place was full of laughter and music ( at 9 am ). The staff deserve their tips. I will return and recommend Mels to others ! Special thanks to Marissa for processing my order so fast (my food was still hot when I got home.)

Hey...It's Better Than Denny's!. For Roseville all-nighters, you have two options: Denny's or Mel's Diner...you decide! This Mel's seems to have better service than the one in Rocklin, but the food isn't as good here. Burgers...they're okay if you compare them to Denny's, but compared to non-24-hour-joints, they're pretty mediocre at best.

Chicken Quesadilla...it's usually pretty good (I get it on a wheat tortilla) but the salsa leaves a lot to be desired (think Pace with less flavor).

Great all-night diner. I've probably been to this restaurant more times than any other. After an all-nighter as a college student this was the place to go. Great atmosphere, friendly faces and service, they even remember your name! The place is usually packed with people of all ages, and around 2 AM its packed with cops (I've come here all hours of the night). All the food I've tried so far is good and the icecream sundae is piled so high its a wonder it doesn't topple over on the way to the table. The food doesn't drip in grease like Denny's food does. Great place for a Sunday brunch. Also, beware that this is the only Mel's out of the three around the Sacramento area that is open 24hrs. My favorites are the mel-fries dipped in ranch and their sandwiches or chicken strips. I've always been too full to try the shakes, but friends say they're delicious.

A classic slice of Americana that serves comfort food in the middle of suburbia.. The Scene
The decor is fabulous '50s: black and white interior complete with neon signs and a jukebox. The walls of the restaurant are loaded with memorabilia from the film "American Graffiti." Scenes from the movie were filmed at the Original Mel's in San Francisco, which, incidentally, is over 50 years old.

The Food
Mels' menu is full of diner delights from burgers and sandwiches to pancakes and hot fudge sundaes. Blue-plate specials like meatloaf and chicken-fried steak are served with a big square of cornbread and your choice of two side dishes.

What to Order
The ice cream shakes are creamy and delicious, while the "Melfries" are seasoned to perfection.

24 hour heaven. this is the king of 24 hour restaurants wherease dennys is the macdonalds of 24 hour restaurants. The blue plate platters are an awesome value where you get a three course meal for about 7 dollars not including tax, tip, and drink :) Their shakes are awesome too, every single time we go there we try something new and have never been dissapointed. TRY THE FRIED ZUCHINNI SPEARS
