You MUST try this place!

Probably one of the best Thai places I've ever eaten at, unbelievable flavor and freshness, great selection and great service...enjoy!
- Pros: Fresh, flavorful food, great service!
Amazing! Amazing!
by instylecafe
I adore Amarin! I loving bringing friends here - and I do so every chance I get. During the good economic, the place could get packed, but recently the place?s never been busy. Tasty, yummy, and delicious are how I describe the meal I had. The flavors were amazing and the food was fresh and EXCELLENT. The MOST important; NO MSG IN ALL DISHES!! The service is friendly, if not speedy, and the atmosphere calm and relaxing. I have had so many dinners here and it's always been perfect. My favorites are angel wings (stuffed chicken wing), pineapple fired rice, and roast duck curry. Also, their salad is SUPERB. For some reason, they?ve changed the way they cooked their GREAT angel wings lately. Its taste was still fine, although not as great as it had been. I didn?t like the new crispy skin outside the wings; I love the old way more. The other food is always wonderful. I had tried many Thai restaurants in Sacramento, but after I found Amarin, I?ve NEVER EVER been to any other Thai restaurants in Sacramento again. Food may a bit slow, but you will not be disappointed. I cannot recommend this place more highly!!!! Check it out for yourself.
Not the best we've ever had - but better than most in the area
by Degas77
This is the best Thai Food we have had in the Sacramento/Davis area by a longshot. Vegetarian/Vegan options are bountiful, and while the portion/price ratio isn't great, the food is quite good.
It seems the Thai food in Southern California and the Bay Area has us spoiled - but if we had only tried Sacramento and Davis area Thai food we would give Amarin Thai 5 stars.
- Pros: Many vegetarian options, good food.
- Cons: Not the best Thai food in the state - but that's not really a con.
Worst Thai I have ever had
by diner316
It is a worn out old diner that was remodeled by painting the exposed ductwork black.
The view from the window gave me a great view of the homeless shuffling by.
The service was slow and unresponsive.
The fried appetized tasted like month old oil.
My sweet and sour stir fried entree was in a tomato sauce that appeared to be cambell's soup.
My wife ordered an entree, specifially asking for it to be mild. It was chock full of firecracker hot peppers.
I expect Thai restraunts to have clean, crisp flavors that leave me wanting more. This place does not have it.
The only good part was the mint. Thankfully it god the taste of the meal out of my mouth.
- Pros: The after dinner mint.
- Cons: Everything else.
Best Thai in a while!
by mistyz23
I've been disappointed by my recent adventures in Thai food in the Sacramento area. Finally, a place worth the drive and excellent food! I've been looking for a decent Red Curry for a while, and finally, there it was. I even got my Fiance to eat Thai, though he doesn't like it much. He loved this. He had the Garlic lovers and I had the Red Curry and fried spring rolls. Deeeelish.
- Pros: Inexpensive, Excellent flavors, Prompt service
- Cons: None!
Amarin over rated

The neighborhood is very sad, homeless everywhere on the streets outside the picture windows. The food is good NOT great, prices however are great. I don't believe it deserves such high rating as 9s more like 7. something.
Good Thai food
by froggyhi
I really enjoyed the food at Amarin Thai. The service was a little slow, maybe a little too relaxed? At the end of our meal we were probably sitting for about 15 minutes before someone came around to offer a check and boxes. The menu has a lot of offerings. The appetizer sampler is very good. If you don't need a lot of steamed rice, just order one bowl, it should be enough for 2-3 people. All the entrees are shareable.
- Pros: Good food, large menu
Excellent Thai food
by andreaps04
Amarin is definitely in my top 3 favorite Thai restaurants in Sacramento. Their food is consistently good, reasonably-priced, and they have good size servings.
The spring rolls are EXCELLENT, and although they are an appetizer, they almost make a complete meal. They also have these vegetarian tofu things (appetizer) that come with peanut sauce, that are incredible. Everything here is tasty. Good pad thai, good peanut sauce, good curries...
- Pros: Delicious, Good vegetarian, Spring rolls
Vegetarians and carnivores alike will revel in spicy Thai recipes and a warm, soothing atmosphere.

The Scene
Gone are the drab, floral tablecloths and wood wall paneling--Amarin has been transformed. An entire wall is now devoted to a mural of two beautiful Asian women in a tranquil setting, and the others are awash in muted blue and lavender. The makeover has boosted the already popular restaurant's customer base, making it essential to get there before the weekend dinner rush.
The Food
One of the largest Thai menus in town, it comprises a whopping 74 meat, seafood, noodle and rice dishes and 47 vegetarian dishes.
What to Order
The Popeye, named after the cartoon character, aptly consists of sauteed spinach, choice of meat and spicy garlic chili sauce. Sounds too healthy to be good, but it's divine. The grilled beef salad in a spicy lime sauce is also delicious.
