Stick with waffle house
by rumspringa
The pancakes were enormous but had been cooked on a grill after a fish fillet and tasted like (maybe?) cod. An over medium egg order was served raw and I sat with an empty coffee cup for fifteen minutes. Last and worst, my kid's antique "sassy seat" (high chair thing that attached to the table) collapsed with him in it when I tried to fasten the belt, and the waitress glared at me when I asked for help. Call me an idealist, but a restaurant with a clown motif that specializes in pancakes should be prepared for children.
- Pros: huge pancakes
- Cons: foul pancakes

What do Cheezy clowns, happily crowded breakfast lines, lottery tickets, and pancakes have in common: Pancake circus of course! Its a local greasy spoon that if you don't try it once, you always wonder.
- Pros: Its pancake circus!!
- Cons: Long Lines on Sunday.
Pancake Nirvana

Roads, below, said it very well. The waitresses here are not in a customer service mode, ever. They are perfunctory and usually (not always) efficient, but they couldn't care less if you are there, or elsewhere. If you're done, please pay and leave so that others standing outside in groups may have your table.
That said, the pancakes are simply the best. Ever. Anywhere. Big discs of pancake batter grilled to golden brown goodness, with whipped butter (not margine). The syrup isn't heated which is a minus, but almost trivial compared to the perfect pancake batter.
You can get an outrageous amount of food here for $5.00. Four pancakes here is like a Carb Overload, though. The eggs are satisfactory, the side items satisfactory. The coffee is weak, watery, but plentiful.
The clowns? Yeah, those. Very scary. Very 70s. Very old and not well maintained atmosphere. Really the suff nightmares are made of, for clown haters like me. Just close your eyes and let the pancakes protect you.
Then get the hell out, because they want your table.
- Pros: Pancakes; Variety; Price
- Cons: Dismissive wait staff; too many damn clowns; watery coffee
Great Food, So-So Service
by roadscholarus
The food is simply outstanding, that being said, don't expect the waitresses to pretend they're happy you're there. The place is always packed, and can do well enough without your patronage. Some servers are better than others, but the general demeanor is take it or leave it. Based on the crowds, it would appear most folks appear to take it. Don't mistake this review as being my being treated rudely; it's just that they present themselves as not caring whether you're eating there or somewhere else. My coffee was always refilled without having to ask, and the food is hot and usually in front of you before you can finish reading the top story of the day.
- Pros: Food Quality, Promptness, Price
- Cons: Lethargic demeanor

- Pros: pancakes, syrup, eggs

Funny name and good, cheap food--this quintessential greasy-spoon diner is a great place to bring a horde of kids.

The Scene
Some senior citizens know all the waitresses' names, and tacky circus-animal pictures adorn the brown, tan and orange walls, circa 1970. But people don't come for the decor, they come because they can pad their ribs with a country-fried steak (a house specialty) smothered with country gravy, served with two eggs and four pancakes for a little more than $5. This is the place you come when you're broke and hungry.
The Food
The Circus is famous for its biscuits and country gravy (served with two eggs and two link sausages). Avoid bringing your weight-conscious friends: You won't find anything low-cal on this menu worth eating.
Go For It!!

Tasty, affordable food with plenty of selections. Fast, friendly service.
Hearty meals that come in huge portions. Pancakes are a must, served with generous dollops of butter and syrup. But try lunches and dinners, too. I was pleasantly surprised.
- Pros: Affordable, fast, tasty
- Cons: park-lot always full, ambience
Consistant Cakes

- Pros: inexpensive, good food, service
- Cons: bathrooms, parking, water glasses
Great Food Served here
by TupperLady
The food here is wonderful. Everytime we eat here, we always know its going to be good. The service could use some improvement. We have yet to have a decent waitress here. The building is old and could use remodeling, but the food makes it worth a stop.
- Pros: Great Food, Inexpensive
- Cons: Service, Needs remodeling
