I have been to this salon a few times and overall, I would recommend another salon for your hairstyle needs. I ask for a specfic style and the end result is never what I had in mind. It seems as though there are new stylists each time I go and I wonder why there is such turnover. Although the appointment should be about 2 hours, I always wait and never get out before 3-4 hours.
- Pros: location, products
- Cons: too hot or too cold, bad color, the wait
A Dimestore WIG can make you look better than this rundown place!

I have a pretty open mind about new places I try. This salon wasn't so great. First, there's a pest problem: there were big, cuckarachas in the bathroom, around the sink area. Second, the owner brings her kid to to the salon, so you've got a little kid running around. Maybe she's marketing childcare services in addition to bad hair jobs.
My hair was cut too short and my dye job lasted less than a month. I wouldn't recommend this place.
Awesome Salon

I was referred to Corina by a friend and I do not regret listening to her advice!! The first time I went in, I was a bit hesitant because I had gone to a different salon where I got a great hair cut. I told Corina that I only had one requirement in mind and other than that, she could do what she thought would work. Everyone loved it. So I definitely didn't cancel the 2nd appointment we had set up. The 2nd time, I told her that I wanted to cut my hair from shoulder length to chin length and it turned out beautifully!!!! This last time, it was to trim it back up to the previous length. Corina listens to what you want and if she has ideas about what would make your vision better, she tells you and usually they sound way better than what you already had in mind. There are no sales pitches for products or any pressure to make referrals. The salon is not difficult to find and so far I've never had any problems finding parking. I would highly recommend Corina to anyone who is looking for a new stylist.
Great Hair Cuts and Color
by bjwillson at Citysearch
I moved here from the San Francisco Bay Area nine years ago and have been trying to find a hair stylist here in town that really listens to what I want, but is creative at the same time. I have very difficult hair to work with and I am a perfectionist when it comes to my hair cut and color. After hours I am a local violinist so I want to look good on stage. I tried several of the number one rated salons in town and was not satisfied. Then I found Mika. Initially I went to see him at Lotus Salon. I was so pleased with the results, I have followed him to the Blue Door Salon. At my Initial Visit to see Mika my former hair stylest (from the number one salon in town) had left me with super short bangs, and fried blonde hair. Mika has been working with me the past couple years and now for the first time in years I am getting comments about how great my hair looks from strangers on the street, coworkers, and people who see me in concert. I am in the middle of a horrible custody battle, and my ex-husband's attorney ran up to me after one of our Court Appearances to ask who does my hair. I am still blonde, but for the first time in years my hair feels and looks great. Mika came up with a style that is not only creative, but works for my curly difficult hair. So far my experience with the Blue Door Salon has been very pleasurable. It is upbeat, lively, and the staff is very curteous and friendly. I higly recommend it to everyone I know.
- Pros: There is a parking lot available behind the salon
- Cons: I have to go elsewhere for the products that my hair stylist recommends
Great Salon!!

I totally agree bwildered1 100% that whoever is writing these negative comments about the Blue Door Salon and Jade, are just disgruntled employees. I have been going to Jade since she was at Hair to Dye For and once she opened up her own salon, I was there with her! She is great and knows hair. I would highly recommend Jade to all my friends (actually, I already do that.) So all of you with the negative comments, go and get a life.
What are some of you talking about!!!!!!!!!!

Are you people sure you are at THE BLUE DOOR. I agree with the woman who said these must be disgruntled employees writing these bad reviews. I have never seen or experienced what has been said about Jade or her salon. A prima donna, Jade, no way! Jade grew up very modestly and has worked very hard for what she has. She is a smart, kind, strong woman who makes me laugh so hard every time I go in, plus I get a great cut and wonderful color too. I am a forever customer!
And about the chemicals around a baby, you are putting them on your head, a quarter inch from the brain you don't use and you are worried about a baby several feet away DUHHHH!!!!
And Barbara, who gets perms anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Pros: Free parking, prices, friendly atmosphere
- Cons: make another appt immediately after one, takes awhile to get in
Great Salon for Barrio chick

If you want a good, cheap salon and you don't have a lot of money, I think this place is
great. I moved here from Bakersfield and this place is as good as it gets!
- Pros: Free parking!.
Nightmare Salon-Haystack for Hair!
by torra at Citysearch
Went in for a touch-up on my highlights--was assured the owner was very educated and knew how to do complicated platinum highlights interwoven with blonde honey amber hues. Whoa! I ended up looking like Barbie with brassy, dull strands of straw! I may as well have had a haystack on my head. No, no, no--never again will I come back to this place--UGH! Nightmare on Haystack Street!
- Pros: Parking lot empty
- Cons: Misleading Experience, Bad Highlights, Bad color job
beauty, my eyes are the beholder !!!!

My hair; long, shiny, thick, healthy, styled, highlighted and very beautiful. In style and looking awsome. This is what I get at the Blue Door Salon. Mother of three, no time, I depend on Jade. For 13 years I have depended on Jade to keep my hair healthy. Why 13 years? hum..... maybe cuz she's reliable, comfortable to be with, excellent in her practice, commits to her clients, extremley sharp in business. Her accomplishments in life definately shows, she works hard to be successful. ***completely satisfied**** and for those neg. remarks below. Slandering may make you feel good on occasion but it gets you no where in life. I highly recommed this place.............. judge for youself.
- Pros: location, cost, quality
great job!

I have been going to this salon since it opened. I was one of there first walk in customer. I moved away for awhile, and when I moved back I called the salon to see if they could fit me in, the girl that had cut my hair for 2 years was still there and when I sat in that chair it felt like home. I sat there and didn't have to say a word she just knew what to do I have been to other salons in other states and spent anywhere from $15.00-$45.00 it didn't matter I never got a good cut. I am happy to be back. So when I heard about these bad reviews I had to post something. Those people must be crazy!
To everyone who works there keep up the great work.
- Pros: great prices, fun atmosphere, relaxing
