Ate here once, once is enough

The service was rude to indifferent, the food was the same. the vegetable in the dishes served were not fresh, the shrimp were ripe smelling, the chicken-well-the chicken feet and skin-to be specific-did not smell like the chicken promised in the dishes served. Eat here at your own risk.

All You Can EAT

Wow! The Cosmopolitan all you can eat buffet is truly unparalleled. With over 20 dishes comprised of everything from kung pao chicken and orange beef to spicy tangy wonton and walnut prawns, the cosmopolitan menu serves to satisfy the taste buds of beef, chicken and seafood lovers. But really, try the walnut prawns. You won't regret it.

This is how it works:

1.) You start of the night by ordering some appetizers, but if you're like me, I go straight for the main entrees like walnut prawns and kung pao chicken. I mainly order these dishes so I can't exactly remember the rest of the menu. You'll have to find out for yourself.

2.) Every dish including the main entree is served in smaller portions so everyone can try a bit of everything. And you're still hungry, just order more. The price is set.

3.) Dessert! Need I say more?

Service:

The service is mostly on pace, but sometimes can be a little slower than usual on the busier nights (Friday and Saturday). Waiting for a table on a busy night may take about ten minutes, but the food is worth it. especially the cosmopolitan dinner. Yum!

amazing chinese food! Has a cook to order buffet, the only one in town I know of.

The restuarant has a great atmosphere. The entryway with its fountain, textured walls and antique wodden doors invokes a sense of ancient gradeur. Once inside, there are comfortable booths, regular tables, and a full bar. The women's bathroom has a fancy electronic toilet from Japan which is really cool

The best part, of course, is the food. For less than $15, they have a cook to order buffet. You can chose from over 30 different items, and your server will bring you a small plate of any item you want, all you can eat, and fresh from the kitchen. If you want a wonderful Chinese buffet but prefer your food freshly made and served at the table, this place is for you!

Worst Chinese food

I have been searching high and low for a great Chinese restaurant in Sac. Finally, this restaurant was suggested. So, my boyfriend and I gave it a shot. The staff was friendly and prompt service. But once we received our food, it went downhill from there. The food was horrible. It was a very poor excuse for Chinese cuisine. Save your taste palette on this one :(

Good deco but really bad food ...

When you walk in there, it is definitely one of the nicest Chinese restaurant in town. They really spent a lot time to make the restaurant looks good. but food really isnt as good as I expect. I went there because of the citysearch reviews, but it really disappoint me. The deep-fried shrimps is cold & hard (feels like it have been deep-fried for several hours), the satay chicken kebab taste funny without any taste of satay sauce, the "tai-chien" chicken is way over-cooked.

Best Tasting all around

Every restraunt I go to I usually have a favorite and compare anywhere else to that, but just about every dish they have is one of the best or close to it. The Shrimp Tempura's not very good, but this is a Chinese restaurant not Japanese. The buisness lunch is an amazing value and their Moo-shu-pork, and Hot and Sour soup are the best I ever had, but like I said it's really hard to go wrong w/ anything here.

This better-than-average Chinese restaurant spruces up its lengthy menu with twists on traditional noodle and fish dishes.

The Scene
The restaurant is decorated in black and tan hues with a few standouts, such as a three-foot-tall Buddha, a gargantuan mural and a gurgling stone-fish fountain. Each table is equipped with a tropical drink menu that looks as if it came from a bar in Hawaii, circa 1960. Along with the regular frou-frou stuff like pina coladas and daiquiris, you'll find the Suffering Bastard, a potent blend of Jamaican rum, lime and secret ingredients.

The Food
Find traditional Chinese and South Pacific dishes mixed with creative items like the Imperial Seafood Bird Nest--prawns, scallops, calamari and vegetables assembled to look like a nest. For the health-conscious diner, there's the Empress Fitness portion of the menu, which is served sans cornstarch (no mention of the fat content, but there's no cornstarch).

Was great!

I have only eaten here once, but it was really good when we went. They have a buffet in which everything is made to order; no heat lamps and day old food. I give it a thumbs up. Could be a little bit cheaper, but I would go there again.

worst restaurant in Sacramento

everything about this restaurant was bad the one and only time I will go there. what is poor about it?The food, the service-their snotty attitude, the value. don't be fooled by their advertising-this place stinks.

Only Made To Order Chinesse Buffet

Eastern Empire's made to order buffet is the best I've ever had and is the best value for your dollar. Not only does Eastern Empire have excellent food the drinks are the best also.
