This charming deli is a must for breakfast if you are staying at The Resort at Squaw Creek. Their menu selection is limited but what they do offer is very good, especially their sweet items. Staff was very friendly and accomodating. A nice way to start the day!

This concrete maze may lack character but go-carts, a water park and the state fair pull in the crowds.

The Story

It's not hard to find River City folks waxing nostalgic about the old state fair grounds on Stockton Boulevard. However, you'd be hard-pressed to hear anyone utter such warm words about this facility, which replaced it in the '60s. It's not a bad place, but it lacks the character of the old digs.

The Attractions

Though this big concrete maze is short on charm, it has plenty of attractions. There's horse racing, trade shows and the annual Autorama. The state fair attracts the masses with it's carnival rides and cotton candy. Not fair time? Bring the kids down to The Point, an entertainment center with water bumper boats, batting cages, arcade, go-carts and miniature golf. Waterworld USA is also on the grounds and cools off kids in the summer with its water rides.
