A mega-resort where skiers take their chances on the black diamonds by day and the red diamonds by night.

In Short
The only western ski area to straddle two states (California and Nevada), Heavenly flaunts the highest top elevation in the region (10,067 feet) and breathtaking views of Lake Tahoe. It features bowls, glades and ridge tops, but is known primarily as an intermediate skier's mountain. One of the largest snowmaking systems in North America guarantees good coverage in lean snow years. In general, skiing is less crowded and snow quality is better on the Nevada side.
Vital Stats
Elevation: 10,000 feet
Terrain: 4,800 acres

out of all the places i've been snowboarding. HEAVENLY is by far the BEST. now, i plan a trip every year out there with 12 of my closest friends. the trip from FLORIDA adds extra excitment!!! although i miss not being able to go up there everyday like i did when i lived out there. :(

- Pros: Cruising runs, Good Grooming, Sunshine
- Cons: , more Hi-speed lifts, customer friendly

Heavenly is the best place ever. Last vacation i was begging my friend to go to Colorado. She just wouldn't hear of it and she kept saying South Lake Tahoe! And i was like NO. But we went and it was wonderful. I was in awe of how gorgeous things were and i still keep my pictures of the trip on my desktop, year round. It's GORGEOUS!
- Pros: Crowded, Breathtaking, Nice People
- Cons: , Breathtaking, no mean people

The best part to Heavenly Valley is the location. There is great skiing all day and at night, there is plenty of entertainment whether it be live shows or casinos.
The view of the lake is outstanding from the slopes.
Recent years have proven, to me, that spring skiing is the best at Heavenly.
- Pros: View of lake taho, Variety of runs, Great spring snow
- Cons: Snow quality in Dec.

the best resort

I think that heavenly is the best ski resort in northern nevada and california. the only down fall is that it is a little expensive. but if you are looking for powder and difficulty or just the smooth easy day, this is the ski resort for you.

- Pros: good parking, varity of runs, lots of space
- Cons: fairly long lines, expensive

I like Heavenly because after a long day of skiing, who really wants to wait an hour or so just to get out of the resort and then wait in traffic for another hour just to get back to your hotel? Heavenly is close to 90% of the hotels on the South Shore and it has shuttle buses frequently making it easy to get to. The views are GREAT and it is so spread out, the lines are far and few.
- Pros: Close to most hotels, LOTS of slopes, Great views!!
- Cons: Parking, Kind of pricy
