Shop owner wins verdict against lawyer

Jury made rare finding of punitive damages for malice and fraud .Sacramento Business Journal - by Kathy Robertson Staff writer

A local law firm and its founder were found liable for mal practice last week by a Sacramento jury that levied more than $550,0000 in damages for m alice and f aud.

The Aug. 10 verdict in Sacramento Superior Court awarded Maryse de Col-Normand, an upscale consignment store operator, a total of $567,340 in damages from the Miller Law Firm Inc., founder John Miller and former associate Casey Young.

The parties reached a confidential settlement in the case Tuesday, but the verdict remained unsealed. The parties would not comment, except to confirm an agreement.

“The matter has been resolved, so no judgment will be entered,” said Daniel Kohls, a Roseville attorney who represented the defendants.

The state bar should suspend (the license to practice law) both lawyers listed above, as well as the license of Mark Gallagher. Their perforrnance, or should I say, non-performance, speaks for itself.

run run fast he is a snake , a liar , a scammer, he doesnt work your case he over bills and doest file anything right handles case very recklessly he has all his staff in on the whole thing esther the receptionist acts nice but she is a liarliar, anna marie the biggest liar of them all. they stole 18,000 dollars from a settlement that was to be put in a trust account for them anyone that wants any more info please call me and my family 916-380-1607 or 916-904-4274 he took advantage of my 60 year old mother and my 5 children. He is being sued by numerous people. He abandoned our CASE because he ruined it . He has never shown up to represent my family he sends cameron whitehead or joe o neil or mark gallagher be care ful you will be scammed. our CASE only had a couple of weeks to go and he abandoned my family and will not answer any calls, he has a bullet proof window with a buzzer to get into his office because people want to HURT him he is very unethical , call me if you have been scammed MY FAMILY will turn him into the state bar .he is NOT THE BEST MOLD ATTORNEY IN SAC HE IS A JOKE IN THE COMMUNITY HE IS BAD NEWS

Disgrace to Profession

RUN!! DO NOT HIRE THIS ATTORNEY. I and several others retained Miller after he COMPLETELY misrepresented himself and his firm's abilities. Miller is a con-man and should not be practicing law. We eventually fired Miller, but not before he took thousands from us. I cannot believe he is still allowed to practice law. You can see how many lawsuits are filed against him and his firm on the Sacramento Superior Court website. If you feel you were misrepresented in your legal action or were treated unprofessionally or unethically by Miller in any way, I urge you to contact the California Bar Association regarding your complaints. Miller has yet to come clean with overbilling issues in our case.

• Cons: Fails to return calls, fails to bill correctly, fails to perform services, misrepresents his abilities, etc. etc. etc.

Not worth your time and effort

I regret hiring Miller Law Inc.. Both my Miller Law lawyer, Mark Gallagher and the very owner/operator, John Miller, made costly errors. To add insult to injury they charged me for addressing these errors despite the the fact that these errors were in violation of the state bar's code of conduct. Simply put, I wish I never would have hired them, they were a waste of my time, money, and effort.

Unprofessional and Unskilled Lawyer under Poor Management.

Miller Law is not nearly as good as they claim. After experiencing the devastating loss of all our possessions, loss of our health, and loss of our financial stability due to the negligence of another we mistakenly sought Miller Law Inc. Despite having all the documentation and tests which supported our claims, the ?smoking gun?, we ended up paying them much more then they were able to extract from the Insurance company, to give to us. Why? Precisely put, Miller Law?s lack of legal knowledge, lazy leadership, disorganization, ineffective/inappropriate communication with the apposing party and clients, as well as their poor business skills make their legal arrogance unfounded. For us, they made a horrible experience unbearable so it is without hesitation we say, watch out, there?s a snake in the grass. Seek a good contingency lawyer instead. At least, they work for their money.
