Good food in a sense.
by SacRestaurantCritic
I will say it at the beginning of the review just to clear this up, the crepeville in Davis in indeed a bit nicer than the crepeville in Sacramento, but stuck with travel limitation this one had to do. The food was great, and it definitely deserves a 5, some toppings on a crepe perfectly combined are absolutely uncomparable to others, the service is something i didn't have any problem with, as for the reviews consisting of the service and that only, i feel sorry for you, but that should only make a portion of your rating. As for me the service was also a 5. And finally the atmosphere was fairly nice, but something to really consider is the time you get there, arriving early in the morning is probably the best plan for a visit to this restaurant, for the place is spick and span and normally service has less stress on its shoulders, but it depends on your circumstances. According to a few others the food was bland. In contrast, the several times I've been to crepeville my food differed depending on the toppings I ordered, so just make sure you order flavorful ingredients that are in season. And finally we are brought to the cash only issue, personally i can understand why having to have bills on hand can be a problem, but if you're a patient person, or one who has time ( I know some like to dine here for lunch break ) I don't see an issue with using the ATM. But in the overall perspective the quality is in the details, so this is why crepeville only receives a 3. Happy dining, and choose your next meal wisely.
- Pros: location and food.
- Cons: some details can make this place quite unpleasant.
Delicious Crepes, Fun Atmosphere, Great Independent Business
by shannypie
Best Crepes in town!! I miss Crepeville and always stop in when I am in Sactown. Although most agree and enjoy the food and relaxed atmosphere, some have had some not-so-great experiences. Here are ShannyPie's hot tips to enjoying your visit to Crepeville:
1.) Bring cash (credit/debit not accepted- but there is an ATM in the back) and your appetite.
2.) Communicate- if you notice the people who ordered food after you are eating, and your still waiting, let the "server" know. Its usually a little understaffed, and they don't remember what order you ordered. It would be another thing if it was full service, but you ordered at the counter, remember?
3.) Its a small business, so don't expect a "safe corporate atmosphere." It won't be consistently awesome, or well staffed, but will always be worth the wait.
4.) Wear shoes, that's just common sense now.
Arrogant Business Owner - HORRIBLE Customer Service - NO CREDIT/DEBIT! WOW
by mattstermind
First of all, I have NEVER eaten here, nor do I want to! I visited Crepeville a year ago and put in my order and after attempting to pay, the owner pointed to the "cash only" sign and he stated there was an ATM machine in the back. I don't know what kind of business owner is so egregiously arrogant and thirity as to not accept credit/debit payment.
Based on the reviews I have read from others the customer service is VERY poor. I hope he receives such a bad reputation for this that it drives him out of business! Shame on him for not offering refunds to multiple customers who clearly deserved them. I'm glad I walked away. I hope he loses more business as result of him not offering other forms of payment. He is arrogant and greedy and I will NEVER eat at that establishment. BAN THIS BUSINESS!
- Cons: Arrogant business owner - BAD customer service NO debit/credit payments
Great food and great ambiance
by wlittleman
I think I found one of the best hamburgers in town, and it's at a restaurant known for its crepe! I love this place because it's kid friendly, has a kick back ambiance, and service is quick. The menu selection is fantastic. The only thing I would not recommend is any of their egg benedict breakfast plates because the hollandaise sauce is too tangy.
- Pros: Partial self serve (I don't really need full service). Great food for the money
- Cons: Eggs benedict is not so great, but the rest of the menu is outstanding
Excellent Crepes
by Molly77
I love crepes and Crepeville knows how to whip them up. The selection of crepe creations are endless. I like the fact that if you are not in the mood for a crepe, you still have other options ranging from omelet, soups to salads. Or if you are in the mood for a crepe dessert the selection is large. The establishment is kid friendly, spacious and offers a nice outside seating. The portions are huge and most come with a side of potaotes. I strongly recommend the greek delight crepe and the french toast. The french toast and the real maple syrup is wonderful.
- Pros: Affordable! Since it is a walk up order style, tipping is not expected
- Cons: They only accept cash
Beware, Flaws in Sanitation and Health Might be there, BE ON YOUR TOES, It's your responsiblity!

In the lavatory I found that one toilette and stall area was covered in regurgitation. The second stall and that toilette was covered in fecal matter. I exited quickly and as I walked out of the hallway I realized that in the hallway was more regurgitation and that I had stepped in it. In disgust, I left the sandals in the hallway and immediately sought to notify managment, there was none. I therefore, notified one of the staff memebers who simply seemed directionless, but apparently notified someone to take care of it. There was no one to assume leadership or a customer service response to the vile experience.
I ate barefoot in the restaurant.
I was give the name of a "Derar" in Davis. I began my call with explaining the incident, and assumed there would be a degree of empathy of concern for the experience, perhaps an apology and some sort of an extension of customary resolution, as i did lose my shoes at the restaurant!
On the contrary, he was sarcastic and in contempt with me: his statements included, "you should watch where you step " My response was "Crepeville is not a park nor is it a bar it is a resataurant, and an occasional peek of the bathrooms would be a good idea!" I can only conclude that if you are at Crepeville you should WATCH OUT AT ALL LEVLES as Derar made it clear "should we hire someone to sit in the bathrooms and watch for it full time?" With a false sense of concern.
- Pros: Location
- Cons: Terrible management
terrible service, good ambiance, decent food

bring cash when you come here. in this day and age i thought debit/credit was a norm. i guess this place is so cheap they dont wanna pay the atm fees even though they get tons of customers. the service here is non-existant. takes forever to get your food so bring a friend that you can chat with. and make sure you have plenty of time to waste. have gotten several crepes here and they're alright, considering we're in sacramento and there's not much competition. they have good varieties but all of the crepes i've had here are bland so get some salt. the best thing they serve are actually the potatoes on the side. put some ketchup and some tobasco and you're set! also, check your feelings at the door. these people make you feel very unappreciated. they know that they dont have competition so they can treat you like dog poo, yet you'll probably still come back
It was an OK place...

I have been several times on weekends and have tried a few different dishes. One of my favorite is their weekend special, poached egg on english muffin w/chipotle sauce & herbed potatoes. However, every time I have ordered a meal the plates are cold. For cold dishes this is fine, but when you order something that is supposed to be hot this just doesn't work. The last time I was there it took over 45 minutes to get my dish and it was lukewarm at best on a ice cold plate. I complained to one of the ladies at the counter and she pretty much shrugged her shoulders and turned her back on me.
It's always busy and very loud. If you can go on the weekdays and sit outside it's better. I don't plan on racing back anytime soon.
- Pros: Nice outside seating
- Cons: Loud inside, staff that doesn't care, hot food served on cold plates
horrible customer service
by wow79
I had an awful experience at Crepeville this weekend! After almost an hour long wait for food that usually takes 10 to 15 minutes and seeing people that came in after us finish thier meals and leave, my friend got up to ask the staff if there was a problem. She ended up speaking with the owner. When my friend politely explained to him what had happened and reminded him that most restaurants compensate their customers when the restaurant makes an error, he suggested to her that maybe she should go to those restaurants. I am of the opinion that this is a fantastic idea! I have grown tired of people not being expected to provide basic customer service. What ever happened to the "service with a smile" mentality? There are many great places in Sacramento to get a good breakfast and I suggest to EVERYONE to go to these "other" restaurants. Maybe we could teach the owner the importance of good customer service by not going to his restaurant, he's probably the type that only notices a problem when it hits him in his pockets. Please tell your friends too!
- Pros: foods ok
- Cons: HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
Best food

This is one of the best restaurants for fresh food. the crepes are yummy and the salads are incredibly fresh and tasty. Huge menu options. It'll take me a month to try everything on the menu. The service is exceptional and the staff are very friendly and aim to please. I'm glad I discovered this place.
